Adding Video Transitions
We’ve done a great job of adding our key video elements: the video bumper, title page, and talking head. However, we will add a bit of pizazz to our video to make it more engaging. We are going to add video transitions! Keep in mind that we want to avoid overwhelming our learners with too many video transitions, as this can make the video appear clunky and inauthentic. We will aim for one video transition at the beginning of our talking head clip and another at the end.
To add a video transition, select the Effects button and then choose Video Transitions. We will start by selecting the Cross Dissolve effect.
2. Once you have selected the Cross Dissolve video transition, place it at the beginning of the trimmed talking head clip.
To ensure the transitions work correctly, play the video clip from the beginning of your talking head.
You should notice the title seamlessly dissolve into your talking head video clip.
3. Lastly, we will add a Dip to Color Dissolve transition to the end of the talking head clip.
Similarly to our first transition, select the Dip to Color Dissolve video transition and drag it to the end of your talking head.
4. Now play your video all the way through! You should be able to clearly see the video bumper, title slide, and your talking head.
There should be a clear transition between the title slide and the talking head. There should be another clear transition to signal the end of your video.
