About ASU background and fingerprint checks
Arizona State University conducts a pre-employment reference check and a background investigation for final candidates applying for university positions. This process ensures a safe and secure work and learning environment. Positions designated as security or safety-sensitive require additional background and fingerprint checks.
ASU-designated security-sensitive positions require a fingerprint investigation. In addition, employees who fall within the scope of the EHS 706: Minors on Campus policy require a fingerprint check to be completed every three years. Department HR specialists should submit a fingerprint request for PCard applicants, volunteers, and hires processed outside of IBM Kenexa Brassring. See our fingerprint check guide and website Background and fingerprinting for more information about this process.
AZ fingerprint clearance card
A valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card can be accepted instead of a fingerprint appointment. However, the original clearance card must be verified in person. Email OHR Recruitment and Selection to schedule an appointment mailto:backgroundcheck@asu.edu
Eligible employees have three opportunities to enroll in or change their benefits:
Within 30 days of your hire or benefits eligibility date.

PCard steps:
Complete the P-Card at ASU test with 100%.
Ensure you are fingerprinted and cleared.
If needed, work with ASU Background Check to request fingerprints
