Project: Laminin interactions with the islet in a 3d scaffold protect against cytokine-mediated β-cell death, Colorado School of Mines
• Studyied the effects of extracellular matrix (ECM) on the islets and its role in Beta-cell apoptosis
• Performed biomaterial-based ECM studies, polymer synthesis, and characterization using SEM, NMR, and FTIR2
• Performed cell culture, protein purification, and analysis using affinity purification, western blot, FRET, confocal imaging
• Isolated islets from mice and performed in vitro and in vivo animal studies
Project: Development of full-thickness skin equivalents: reconstruction of skin to treat Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) using human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), University of Colorado Denver
• Performed cell culture work such as generation of Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), reprogramming,
nucleofection, transfection, differentiation into skin cells
• Performed cell characterization and cell-based assays such as FACS, immunofluorescence, and confocal imaging
• Developed 3D skin models of the patients with inherited skin blistering disorders, performed an in-vitro analysis
of regenerated skin and in-vivo analysis by grafting on mice
• Optimized and established a standard operating procedure (SOPs), and managed large-scale experiments
Project: Demyelination in the Pediatric Spinal Cord Detected with Magnetization Transfer Imaging Ratio, Boston Children's Hospital
• Planned, developed, and implemented an image processing algorithm for Spinal Cord MRI data processing
