Interdisciplinary molecular biochemist investigating insulin/IGF signaling, GPCR misfolding-driven retinal degeneration, and metabolite level stress responses across human cell systems and coral models. My research integrates endocrine biology, cell-based systems, metabolomics, and protein biochemistry to identify conserved mechanisms linking cellular resilience and metabolic adaptation, supported by expertise in developing experimental platforms and maintaining high-quality, reproducible laboratory workflows. I actively contribute to the scientific community as a peer reviewer for international journals in metabolism, endocrinology, and translational biology. My long-term goal is to develop regenerative therapies in retinal degeneration and diabetes.
🌱 Passionate Advocate for Change
Beyond the confines of the lab, my activism takes center stage. I am deeply committed to advocating for gender equality, LGBTQ+ rights, and robust climate action. My engagement doesn’t just stop at advocacy; I am actively involved in STEM policy-making to create systemic changes that make our world better and more equitable.
I am also an entrepreneur focused on empowering women and girls in STEM. RenewedFlow is one of many business initiatives I've developed, aimed at manufacturing sustainable and reusable menstrual products from global textile waste as a climate solution. This venture is not just a business; it's a movement towards empowering minority and underserved women, as well as LGBTQ+ communities, tying together my commitments to environmental sustainability, gender equality, and economic inclusion.
🔬 Research and Entrepreneurship
At the intersection of research and entrepreneurship, my work is about creating tangible impacts that transcend academic boundaries. Whether it's developing non-model systems to study environmental resilience or launching socially responsible businesses, my goal is to integrate scientific inquiry with entrepreneurial action to address and solve real-world problems.
🌍 Looking Forward
As I continue on my path at Arizona State University and beyond, I am eager to collaborate with like-minded professionals, organizations, and activists who are passionate about making a difference. Together, we can drive the change needed for a sustainable and inclusive future.
