I am Canadian.
That's my response when someone asks me where I'm from. They can always tell by the way I say "about". I am Amanda, and I am from Canada. I was born in the fall of 1993, during a snowstorm. I no longer have to worry about those early fall flurries, as I currently reside near Atlanta, Georgia! I met my Georgia-born husband in the summer of 2010 playing an online game. We maintained a long distance relationship, with in-person visits here and there, for three years and then we married. However, it wasn't until after our first anniversary that I was granted permission to move to the USA. We have now been married for seven years, we still play video games together, and we have a cat!
I am currently a shift supervisor with Starbucks, and thanks to my company I can attend Arizona State University to pursue a degree in Educational Studies. I joined Starbucks in 2017, and am immensely grateful for the opportunities that they have given me. Through work, I learned that I have a passion for teaching. I hope to become a teacher someday, so that I may share the knowledge I have gained through school and through life. I wish to be a beacon of hope to future students who may be going through a difficult time in their life. It is my dream to see students happy and engaged in my classroom, and through this EDT 180 course, I may find a way to be a supportive and engaging teacher.
