curriculum process

From Programs to Courses, all new developments have a specific required process that they need to go through before students can enroll. Programs can take 2-3 years to implement and even courses need to be approved 1 year before you plan to teach. These processes are used to make sure that all entities at ASU are informed, registrations are updated, high quality courses and instructional materials are designed, and students are successful. Below is a simple flowchart to help you understand the process, but please note that each program and course are unique and may have different requirements. Start by talking to one of the curriculum coordinators to get started.

All new requests MUST start with school approval before moving to the College of Global Futures Curriculum Committee.

CGF curriculum committee

The College of Global Futures Curriculum Committee is facilitated by the Director of Learning Design and Curriculum. Voting members consist of a representative from each school, and ex-officio members include the Associate Dean of Student Success, and the Sr. Director of Student Engagement. You should inform your representative of any new requests so they can advocate and support the approval during the meeting. At meetings where your request is being discussed, you will be invited to attend and answer questions. All new requests are required 2 weeks in advance of the monthly meeting to allow committee members to review the proposals.
