In order to reduce the amount of time required for training people to interact with robots, we examine whether voice control interfaces are more well-received than remote control ones. To do so, we built a DonkeyCar robot car with a Jetson Nano and developed software for both types of interface. We then ran an experiment with both interfaces, asking participants to drive the car with each interface separately and complete a quick survey afterward.

This project aims to simulate construction accidents through virtual reality and haptic feedback so workers shall more proactively counter serve catastrophes from manifesting on real construction sites. The development team has decided to present the consequences of inadequate decision making to workers in a digital, yet realistic environment. The users shall wear a haptic suit so fictional incidents evoke an authentic emotional response with vibrations.
