In the 18-19 SY, the Ayer Shirley Regional School District received $82,951 in funding from the MA Skills Capital Grant project in support of our project proposal to develop the Panther Innovation Lab.
ASRSD purchased around $82,000 worth of equipment, tools, and other necessary items, such as workbenches and shelves. From December 2019 to August 2020, the purchased items continued to arrive at ASRHS and were stored throughout the school.
In early 2020, the plan was to set the lab up as the equipment came in. This plan, however, ended up changing drastically come March 2020, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
In the future, the district hopes to collaborate with dual enrollment programs at Mount Wachusett Community College, Fitchburg State College, or WPI, as well as the Ayer Shirley Adult Community Education Program, to further expand opportunities for students, staff, and community members.
