At ASPIRE Academy, we prioritize having a clear statement of our mission and vision that is aligned with the goals and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, as well as with the needs and aspirations of our students and families. This ensures that our educational practices are grounded in our core beliefs and values, and that we are providing an education that is relevant and meaningful for our community.
ASPIRE's mission is to educate and train students in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ using technology-mediated education. Our approach is interactive, with live instruction and instant feedback, and aligned with the policies of the Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Our goal is to support the development of body, mind, and soul, realizing the divine purpose of education. Technology serves as a tool to aid in this redemptive work, as we strive to reach young people, remotely in their homes, and fulfill the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to carry the Three Angels' Messages to the world.
Adventist Education is a redemptive work. “To restore in man the image of his Maker, to bring him back to the perfection in which he was created, to promote the development of body, mind, and soul, that the divine purpose in His creation might be realized--this was to be the work of redemption. This is the object of education, the great object of life.” (Education, p. 15) At no other time in earth’s history has the importance of raising our children for God been so great than right now. As a people living at the end of time, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has a special mission to carry the Three Angels’ Messages to the entire world. Adventist Education is a critical part of the Church’s mission to train up young people to be missionaries for Christ wherever they may be called to serve. Because of this, the Department of Education’s goal is to reach as many young people as possible across our Conference footprint. ASPIRE (Adventist School Preparing Instilling and Redeeming for Eternity) is an initiative to help that goal be realized. As technology continues to advance, the opportunity to reach children that do not have a “Brick and Mortar” school nearby is more possible than ever before.
ASPIRE seeks to do something that is not readily seen in technology based education programs. ASPIRE utilizes a Technology Mediated Educational approach that is interactive, contains live instruction, instant feedback, and is similar to a physical classroom. Thus, technology is a tool that supports the students’ education, not an education that fits into the technology.
ASPIRE is a grades 1-12 educational program operated by the Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. As such, ASPIRE falls under the Michigan Conference Educational Handbook policies as well as the policies of the Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
