My name is (Robert) Andy Farmer, and I am the Director of Bands, 5th-12th grade, for the Aspen School District.
The Aspen School District Band Program is committed to delivering an inclusive and high-quality instrumental music experience for every student. Through our wide range of ensemble options, students are supported in finding success while working toward rigorous musical standards. Beyond technical growth and performance achievement, participation in band fosters personal development by building character, self-discipline, collaboration, time-management skills, and a strong sense of community, while encouraging responsibility and leadership at both the individual and ensemble levels.
We have several performing ensembles across the district: AHS Concert Band/Pep Band, AHS Jazz Ensemble, AMS 7th/8th Grade Concert Band, 6th Grade Concert Band, AMS Jazz Ensemble, and 5th Grade Beginning Band.

Aspen Bands' Mission
To prepare our students to live and work successfully in a changing world. Through the program a student will learn the value of creativity, teamwork, discipline, performance, organization, and reflection. The band program strives to promote a positive environment in which a student can grow and mature kinesthetically, intellectually, aesthetically, socially, and emotionally, as well as stimulating both logical and intuitive thinking. Participation in the Aspen Band Program will heighten awareness of the importance and value of music in our Aspen community and schools, and the lifelong enriching values inherit to music education.
