Summer 2020 Final Projects

Welcome to a compilation of our teen's final projects~

Summer of 2020: The teens from the CBCAC/ASM program, Chinese and Asian American Civic Engagement @ Chinatown, were given complete creative freedom for what they wanted their own Final Projects for this program to be. With a general topic of civic engagement, the sixteen teens were split into four groups, each group taking on a civic engagement issue of their own choice. All four Final Projects showcased here on this site was designed and created by the teens. The entire process was teen led: From brainstorming and deciding project topics to planning out timelines and setting deadlines for themselves to proofreading and making final edits.

On each project group's group page, you will find a brief introduction as well as their Final Projects. Click on a group's link below to jump to a specific page or browse through the pages using the tabs at the top!

Group 1: COVID-19: What Is It and How To Stay Protected

Group 2: Mental Health Savvy

Group 3: Deconstructing the Model Minority Myth

Group 4: Talking 'bout Mental Health

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported the teens along the way!

Thank you to the teens for dedicating their time to our program and these final projects! For many of you, congratulations on finishing your first ASM program! May this be the first of many. For returning ASM teens, congratulations on completing another ASM program! I hope your experience with us this summer has been positive and educational. Wishing all of you the best on whatever journeys life takes you~
