Summer Work Experience: Business Development & Marketing Assistant

We're looking for a motivated individual to join our team for a flexible summer work experience opportunity. This role is ideal for someone passionate about nature and psychology, looking to gain hands-on experience in business development and marketing.

You'll work directly with business owners Alejandro & Andrés Restrepo Gómez, forging new connections and expanding our network to identify and cultivate exciting business opportunities. This is a unique chance to blend your interest in nature and psychology with practical business skills in a dynamic environment. Dates and times are flexible and will be arranged to suit your summer schedule.

If you're interested in aspects like design, education, nature, business development, business plans, marketing, psychology or even show jumping, we can customize your work experience, learnings and tasks to align with your future pathways.

This work experience will be hosted by ASM Alumni and Current Parents Alejandro & Andrés Restrepo Gómez - You can watch a recent TEDx ASM Youth Talk they did early this year to meet the people you will be working alongside.

Inside ARENA: Lead, Challenge, and Shape the Future.

Two choices of Workshops

Become a CEO Workshop : This engaging student-centered workshop invites participants to step into leadership roles within ARENA, a business with a bold social impact vision. Students will begin by learning about ARENA’s mission and goals, with a special focus on how it seeks to drive change in both business and society. They will then be challenged to step into the role of CEO—grappling with real strategic questions, offering critiques, and proposing innovative ideas.

Participants will be guided through a specially designed page on the ARENA platform, where they will have extended time to provide feedback, brainstorm features or campaigns, and reflect on how they would evolve the platform to better serve their generation.

For students who prefer a lighter engagement, a Lunch & Learn Focus Group will offer a condensed version of the experience. In this session, students will take on the role of Director of Marketing and explore how ARENA can reach and resonate with youth audiences. The focus group will emphasize peer perspectives, creative marketing strategies, and honest dialogue around what works and what doesn’t when it comes to messaging and branding.

Event Team (WoW)

The “Event Team WoW” is an ASA opportunity for Grades 10, 11 and 12.

There are only 20 spaces available and sign-up will be through Powerschool from September 16-20.

Skills: Leadership, Communication, Problem-Solving, Teamwork, Customer Service.

Types of Events: Events will be from the community, sports, arts, fundraisers, and the TEDx application, all that ASM has to offer when we are called to help.

Commitment level: Weekly meetings on Thursdays at 4:00 P.M. and a 30-hour minimum of events experience. Just think this is less than working full-time for a week!
