Beginning Cross Country Skiing

Beginning Nordic (Cross Country) skiing will focus on learning skiing skills using roller skis and fitness through sport. Athletic kids who like to skateboard, downhill ski, rollerblade and are just generally high energy seem to enjoy this sport. Participants will learn and practice ski specific skills in both classic and skate technique through the use of roller skis and pole running. Cross training for other sports and weight training will also be emphasized along with game play and challenge course activities. Roller ski equipment will be provided though students will be asked to bring a bicycle or skateboard helmet for safety.
Chess, Chess, Chess

Martial Arts Camp

This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of mixed martial arts. Students will learn basic skills and self-defense techniques. Stretching, increasing strength, and cardiovascular conditioning will be a focus. At the same time, there will be an emphasis upon lifelong learning habits: discipline, respect, confidence, self-esteem and leadership. Students will receive a karate t-shirt and will earn their first belt!

Jaguar Performance Training

Jaguar Performance Training is designed to emphasize many aspects of physical fitness. The goal of this course is to increase the student’s physical strength, endurance, agility, speed, quickness, flexibility and power. Each session will include participating in a weight training, plyometrics, running program and stretching. This course is offered to males and females. Please note the modified dates and times.

This exciting and fun course consists of games and activities to challenge a student's abilitiy to demonstrate creative thinking and strategy. It introduces students to new games while having fun with their favorites as well. Students work individually, in pairs, and in small groups. A few examples of games that will be explored include: Phase 10, Risk, Othello, Dominoes, Cribbage, and more!
Wrestler Development

Class focuses on building and improving wrestling skills for wrestlers of all levels. Whether you are a first time wrestler looking to learn about the sport or an experienced wrestler, Wrestler Development is for you. Beginner Digital Photography and Photo Editing

Do you love to take photos? In this course, you will learn how to use all the settings on your camera and basic photo composition techniques to create great photos! Indoor studio lighting will also be used to create beautiful head shots. You will edit your photos and use them to create print ready products such as trading cards, posters, magazine covers and much more!

Learn how to become an excellent babysitter by developing the skills needed to responsibly attend to small children left in your care. Students will have the opportunity to work with younger children and will create a babysitter information form, as well as gather a tote of fun items to be used on real jobs in the future.
Advanced Working with Woods

Get physically fit using the Magnum equipment in the fitness center. You will receive a fitness training program designed specifically for you. You will be working and tracking your performance on the following Magnum machines: tri-cep extension, arm curl (bi-cep), shoulder press, pec/delt deck, dips/chin ups, leg curls, leg extension, and seated leg press. In addition, you will become aerobically fit using the Star Trac treadmills, recumbent bike, stair stepper, stationary bike, and elliptical machine.

If you are interested in joining the 2018-2019 Jaguaress Junior Middle School Dance Team, THIS COURSE IS FOR YOU! Participants will learn the basic technical skills needed to be on the Middle School Dance Team. (Pirouettes, Toe Touches, Leaps, etc...) They may also begin learning the choreography needed for football season sidelines, homecoming parade routines and possibly the general choreography of their competitive Pom and Jazz routines. This course is designed to prep the dancers for the beginning of their season in August and help them decide ahead of time if dance is the right fit for them in middle school. (IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU TAKE THIS COURSE IF YOU PLAN TO BE ON THE MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE TEAM)

Each student's needs (related to math skills) will be determined and appropriate instruction will be provided. While there is a focus on building math skills, this work is done through fun math games and activities in addition to math practice and review.
Hunter's Safety

Hunter safety education instills in students the knowledge, skill, and attitude to be a responsible and safe sportsman. The course will allow students to learn how hunting accidents are caused and how they can be prevented. Responsibility and safety are stressed throughout the lessons, which consist of lectures, demonstrations, group discussions, practical exercises, field-trips to the range, and activity assignments. You must be 12 years old to enroll in this class. The last three days of class will be a warden talk, field test, and final exam. Per Wisconsin DNR rules, students must attend the last three days of class in order to earn their safety certification. This is a 2 week course that meets from June 12 - June 22. Hunter education graduates receive a certificate that is accepted in every state, Canadian Province, and Mexico.
Cake Shop

Cakes galore! Learn to decorate cakes like the professionals. Students will practice frosting, writing, flower making, and other cake decorating techniques. Decorate your own masterpiece by the end of the session. Students will be bringing home several tasty treats! Students who participate in this class will be working in a kitchen and may come into contact with allergens such as peanuts/tree nuts, dairy, wheat, soy and gluten.
