Digital Breakout Creation
1. Pick your target curriculum (Standards in math, reading, science, social studies, ect.)
2. Plan your activities (the answers have to fit the configuration of a lock code- example: 4 numbers or 5 letters
Option 1- Google Slides
Start with an into slide and link to the next slide or map slide (wherever it may be in your slide deck)
On the next slide have a map of all the locks along the way (as you complete each activity have a new map pop up with broken lock icons where you have completed activities)
Have the locks link to the activity slide when you click on it
On each activity slide have an icon designated to click on that will take you back to the map (new map with an unlocked icon in place of the lock)
You can make a Google Form for each lock and put a link to it on each activity page that kids have to pass by putting in the correct code or you can do a combo and have actual locks and breakout box, but do all the clues/activities digitally.
If using Forms, make it a quiz in settings so that it will tell the class if they are right or wrong. It can also direct then to the next map in your slide show.
Option 2- Google Site
Make the homepage an introduction to your topic/breakout.
On the page, you can embed one master Google Form that has a question for each lock.
Open the form fully and then you can toggle back and forth between clues and the form to answer the questions.
Make a tab (new page) for each lock and put the clues/activity that correspond on each page.
