Did you know that you can recycle food cartons?
Westwood Elementary School in De Pere, WI started recycling their milk cartons in the Fall of 2018. Yet many of us wonder...what happens to all of these milk cartons? To our surprise, many of the cartons end up at Sustana Fiber, a paper mill just over a mile away from our school! The Sustana group is committed to industry leading product quality, continuous improvement, and environmental stewardship. Many of our milk cartons are transformed into food-grade packaging fibers here!
This is just one example of a bail of cartons that comes into Sustana each day! Check out all of the images in this link!

Recycling cartons is so easy!
63% of households across the United States have access to carton recycling. Recycling your cartons is as easy as 1-2-3:
1) Empty your carton
2) Toss it in the recycling bin
3) Take the bin to the curb
What happens after? Cartons get turned into paper pulp use to create new everyday products like tissues, office paper, or even building materials, like ceiling and roofing tiles! Learn more at http://www.recyclecartons.com
