Learning Intention: To understand how new body cells or somatic cells are made through cell division -Mitosis
Success criteria: To discuss DNA replication, the cell cycle and mitosis
Before a new body cell or somatic cells can be made, another identical copy of DNA must be made through a process called DNA replication.

The cell cycle describes the stages of what a cell must go through to during its life.
This includes most of its time in interphase, followed by the first gap phase, the S-phase and the second gap phase.
During each of these phases different processes occur in a cells life cycle.
