Selection Process Timelines

• Seniors (who are not currently NHS members) and juniors who have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher will receive notification of eligibility in September of 2023, with instructions on deadlines for submitting the Candidate Information Form and supporting documents.  The Candidate Information Form (CIF) will be shared and candidates will be responsible for completing this form, writing a character letter, and requesting references from two people who know them well, one a teacher and the other an adult who is not a relative (such as a coach, boss, club adviser, faith community leader, etc.).   

• Candidates should ensure that all community service they are claiming on the CIF has been submitted to the AHS Community Service Coordinator by September 15, 2023 in order that it can be posted to their record.  The NHS Board will only consider service on file with the AHS Community Service Coordinator; however, the NHS board reserves the right to not count any service they feel has been incorrectly posted (i.e., does not meet the requirements for community service activities established by AHS). 

• Hard copy CIF with candidate character letter AND electronic version of CIF and character letter are due (time to be posted in September, 2023).
