National Honor Society

Welcome to the Ashland High School Socios Chapter of National Honor Society

Above: Socios Chapter Induction, October 2022

"The National Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of

scholarship, service, leadership, and character

Ashland High School has had a charter with NHS since 1959, when it established the Socios Chapter of NHS.

Students are encouraged, from the beginning of freshman year, to maintain high academic achievement in order to be eligible for selection to NHS in their junior or senior years of high school (see Selection Process).

The colors selected by the national office to represent National Honor Society are blue and gold.

At each meeting students are requested to bring a community service item which is donated to the Ashland Food Pantry.  The Vice-President of NHS works closely with the Food Pantry in order to arrange for needed items to be brought in.

Donations will next be collected at our MAY meeting in the AHS Library.
