Finish That House - Fundraising Campaign

We are excited to offer you the opportunity to help provide vital services to homeless families in our community!

The Ashby House operates a homeless shelter for families and individual women, serving approximately 350 people per year.

The emergency shelter is a family-oriented facility focusing on individual needs. We offer support programming and case management services that lead to self-sufficiency, long-term stable housing, and secure employment.

Currently, the shelter consists of a 2-story house with 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The shelter reaches full-capacity on an almost nightly basis – leaving many of its residents to create temporary bedrooms within the shelter’s living room, dining room and kitchen.

To adequately care for the rising population of people seeking shelter as well as preserve a piece of Salina’s history, Ashby House needs your help moving a heritage home that has been donated.

The ‘Finish that House Project’ will provide 4 major benefits.

      1. Increase our capacity with 7 additional bedrooms and 5 additional bathrooms.

      2. Provide accessibility to those with physical limitations with a first-floor bedroom and ADA compliant bathroom and ramp.

      3. Make the shelter safer for staff and clients by updating the security system and adding coded entries.

      4. Provide a functional kitchen and dining room for community meals.

So far, we have raised $160,000 of the $300,000 needed to complete this project. With your help we can provide homeless women and families in our community with the safe and secure emergency shelter they so desperately need.
