There are two elective periods in the school day.
Your core classes will be added for you when the online course request window closes.
If you are in German Immersion this counts as an elective class and will be added after the online course request window closes.
If you want to join BCA you need to fill out the ASD lottery and BCA application. This counts as an elective class and will be added after the online course request window closes.
ASD Core Classes

English I- Full year (Honors English I available)
College & Career Exploration/ Personal Finance- sem 1, AK Studies sem 2 (Honors AK Studies available)
Biology- Full year
Math- based on 8th grade teacher recommendation and 8th grade math class
If you want to join Seminar School (English and Social Studies) you need to fill out the ASD lottery and Seminar application.
Honors English/Alaska Studies at Service
Honors English and Honors Alaska Studies will be paired. Students may select Honors as a part of their Elective selection either on Student Connect or through our Google Form if they are not zoned for us. We plan on 1 section of Honors so seats will be limited. We will look at teacher recommendations for English on Q, English and Social Studies grades, and MAP scores to finalize the class roster. If we get enough interest we might be able to add a second section.

Elective selection process:
You will be entering your elective requests on Q Student Connect.
You should enter 3-4 elective choices.
If you applied for BCA, that will be added after the lottery closes and spots are accepted-please be aware that BCA is an ELECTIVE CHOICE and will take one of your two elective periods.
Students zoned for Service will enter their elective choices through Q Student Connect March 2-27.

Students not zoned for Service will enter their elective choices in the Google Form Mar 2-May 21.
Elective Change Requests
If you would like to make a change to your elective requests after the online window closes you will need to fill out the Freshman Elective Change Request Google Form. You can enter changes on this form March 28-August 1. Please note that if you enter multiple changes, the latest received will be the one that I use.
