First, find a nonfiction book online with Sora, (ASD Overdrive) or Epic (join with code beu3197) or Libby, AND look for facts on your animal on AK F&G. Fold a paper into 4ths-- in half twice (hamburger/hamburger) so that you have 4 equal squares. Label each square something different. Like Habitat, or Interesting Info, or Eats, or Fur/Fins/Feathers. Look at it's Scat & Tracks (see that issue down below for what to look for).
Next, students will be creating nonfiction Digital Book Covers in their library google classroom. These covers will be printed & displayed to see if we can 'hook' new readers into checking out our Alaska section; in doing so, we'll learn about researching in the library.
Last Job: NOW that you've done the research and taken notes, save this template to your google drive, type up a book cover. Get others interested in READing about Ak Animals, show them where more books are! Make the whole book!
