ELIGIBILITY:
Project SEARCH serves students with disabilities. Typically, these are students who:
Are on an Individual Education Plan (IEP)
Have completed their last year of high school (must defer diploma in order to enroll in Project SEARCH)
Are between the ages of 18-22
DATES to WATCH for:
JANUARY - Applications Accepted - Deadline is last day of 3rd Quarter (Please contact me if you are interested but the deadline has passed)
March - Applications are due to the Project SEARCH Instructor prior to Spring Break. Interviews are conducted after break.
April - New interns participate in an Orientation to get started with the on-boarding process - including immunization requirements, background check, and DVR application/intake
Potential Interns need to meet the following criteria:
Age 18-21 and have met high school requirements for graduation
Documented Disability
Eligible to be a client of Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)
Take direction from Supervisors
Be able to communicate effectively
Willing to participate in unpaid training for one year
Good Hygiene and appropriate behavior and social skills
Documented success in previous work experience
Pass drug screening, felony check and have up to date immunizations
Desire and plan to work in the community at the conclusion of Project SEARCH
Secure transportation to and from Providence Alaska Medical Center
