At Aquarian we believe students should be held to rigorous academic standards. With that belief in place we have adopted the Springboard curriculum for our reading and writing curriculum in 6th grade. This program is high in academic rigor and allows us to challenge our students and also introduce them to strategies and academic language that they will be continuing with in Jr. High and High School. Your child will occasionally have homework in Springboard and will need the online access which they can find through their Clever page

They have an independent reading requirement that goes along with that, and you can find access to that information HERE.

Because of the rigor involved in Springboard your child will not have a traditional Spelling program this year or grades for handwriting. Please know that we will still be holding your child accountable for legible handwriting, and a basic grasp on spelling words correctly, they will just no longer have a grade for them on their report card.
