Welcome to the 2024-2025 Mears Orchestra!

This website will be the easiest way for families to find the answers to any orchestra questions. Please look through all of the tabs at the top of the screen. Sometimes concert dates are adjusted during the school year. I will keep these calendars up-to-date. Feel free to email me anytime with questions!

6th Grade FAQ's 

When should my child bring their instrument to school? September 3rd.

What instrument should my child play? We will spend the first week of school introducing all the instruments. Your child should choose the one that sounds the best to them. 

What instruments are offered in Orchestra Class? Vioin, Viola, Cello, and Bass. (The wind and percussion instruments are in the "Band" class. There is also a Choir class)

Where can my child find an instrument? Instruments can be rented or purchased at the local instrument stores.  (See the "supplies" tab above)

 If your family can not afford this, Mears owns instruments that can be loaned to students for a small fee. 

Does my child need to carry their bass and cello back and forth to school? No, Mears has beautiful basses and cellos that they can use. Students will keep an instrument at home to practice, and use the classroom instruments at school.
