Supply List

We don't need much to start. I'll let you know if needs arise as we go along. Please send supplies on the first Monday after school begins, instead of the first day. Here is the list.

The Schedule

Our entry bell rings at 7:50 am Tuesday through Friday (8:50 am Mondays) and students will be invited into the classroom.  Our tardy bell rings at 8 am Tuesday through Friday (9 am Mondays).  Students will begin cleaning up to go home at 2:20 and will be dismissed at 2:30 pm.  As soon as I receive the Chinook wide schedule, I will share that information with families. 

Attendance

Students arriving in the classroom after the 8 am (9 am on Mondays) bell will be marked tardy.  Students arriving after 8:10 am should come to the front door of the school and check in with our office staff before coming to class. Please keep me in the loop about planned absences due to appointments and travel. If you need to pick up or drop off your child outside of the regular start and end times, please come to our front office and let the staff know. Please call our office if your child will be out sick or due to a family emergency.

To report an absence, you may call, email, or log onto ParentConnect.

• Call our front office at 907-742-6700 and leave a message on the attendance line, Option 2. You may leave a voicemail with your student's name, teacher, and reason for absence.

• If your child is not attending school, please email ChinookAttendance@asdk12.org with your student's name, teacher, and reason for absence.

• Report your child's absence through Parent Connect. See directions here.

Communication

Please know that I WANT your feedback. I NEED your feedback. Though I have been teaching for a long time, every child is unique. Please feel free to send emails, texts, or call me and let me know what is working well for your child and what is creating difficulty - or is flat out impossible. If you have specific ideas about how I can better support you and your child, I welcome those ideas. 

Self Care

We can all be better supports for the children when we are healthy ourselves. Please let me know what I can do to help you stay sane and be healthy through the year. I like to use the Self Care Wheel below.

Clever (One App to Rule Them All!)

Your child will log in to the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), iReady, Amplify, Zoom meetings, Google Apps and all other (I think) school related activities through Clever. The login portal for Clever is located at https://clever.com/in/asd. If you are using an iOS device there is a Clever app you can install.
