Kahoot and Quizlet Live

Kahoot! is a tool you can use to collect formative data from your students.

Create a quiz
Ensure all students have a device
Have them go to www.kahoot.it to join (this is different than the website you use to create the quiz!)
Start the quiz and watch the competition!
Later you can download the data in an Excel file

Quizlet Live is very much like Kahoot!... but different!

Go to Quizlet.com and either find a set of flashcards already created or create a set of your own
Click the Quizlet Live button to get started (Quizlet will create the quiz for you!)
Ensure students have devices and have them go to Quizlet.com/live
Give them the code
They will be put into groups by Quizlet Live (you can shuffle them if you like!)
This is "self paced"
- Each group will get the question on their device (the projection screen is showing only progress/score)
- Each member of the group will get a different set of possible answers and only one member will have the correct answer option
- They earn one point for each correct answer and if they miss a question the team drops down to 0 points! (this helps avoid the student that quits trying because they cannot catch up like in Kahoot!)

Breakout EDU Password: showyourwork

Breakout EDU is a fantastic way to get students working with content and each other!

You find (or create) a game that matches what you want students to know
Put it together (how this works will depend on your game)
Hide clues around your room (or where ever you would like to play)
Give students direction and set the timer
- You really want students to have to think to play this game!
- Don't tell them where to find clues or give them many hints... they should know enough about the content to figure this out on their own!
- They get 2 hint cards to give you... you decide what kind of hint to give them!
When (if) students breakout (unlock all locks and get into the box) you should have something to reward them and then take a group photo to celebrate!
- I also like to take a photo if they do not breakout in time... it is fun!
