This site will walk you through many details on creating and publishing New Google Sites!
The new Google Sites is a simple way to share and deliver content and so much more!
Be sure to use the new Google Sites, because they are slowly moving away from the old version. It will eventually be gone!
If you end up in the old Google Sites, click the "New Google Sites" link on the left hand side of the page!

This is how easy it is!
- Go to sites.google.com/new
- Click the + button to start a new site
- Name your site
- Drag and drop the content you want
- Click Publish!
- Remember to click publish each time you make changes to your site that you want people to see!
Your editing functions are all found on the right side of the screen!
- Click the "Pages" tab to add, delete, and move pages
- Click "Themes" to change the look and font of your site
- Click "Insert" to add content
- Or simply double click anywhere on your site and select what you want to insert!
- Or simply drag and drop the content you want to insert!

To get your second hour of PD credit spend one hour outside of this workshop creating a site. It would be best to create something you will actually use, like a digital portfolio or a site for a particular unit or project you plan to teach. But you are not limited to that! The purpose of this time is to get you familiar with building a Google Site! So, try to incorporate all of the elements!
After you have put something together (it does not have to be complete, but put in an hour of work!) please share the Publish link with me in the Google Form to the left!
Submitting your site takes the place of filling out the Session Reflection on the Home page!

- When you add a Google Doc, Sheet, Slide, etc. the shared settings will be the same as the shared settings in the document itself.
- Make sure you have the shared settings set for the appropriate people to see.
- If you only want people from asd20 to see it, you can make sure the settings of the Google Doc, etc. is set to only people from asd20 can view
- If someone is logged in with a different Google account while viewing your site and it is set to only asd20 they will see a page asking them to request access.
- Make sure you have the shared settings set for the appropriate people to see.
- When making changes to your site you must click Publish again for the changes to actually take place!
- You can hide pages from navigation if you want to publish some changes but you aren't quite ready to publish others!
- You can add subpages to subpages now!
