HS BAND

Hello parents and students! HS Band will explore elements of music beyond learning the first few notes of the instrument. In addition to extending the ranges of each particular instrument, students will build experience in complex rhythms and become more expressive in their playing. Students will learn to play in various styles and repertoire and perform in both concerts and festivals. Through learning their instrument and playing in an ensemble, students will develop and practice our core virtues at Ascent – Courage, Moderation, Justice, Responsibility, Prudence, Friendship, and Wonder. Performances will consist of both large concert band ensembles and jazz combo ensembles. Students will need to provide their own instruments in most cases. jwalsh@ascentclassical.org
