5th Grade Music

Hello parents and students! I am really excited to be working with you this year. Our 5th grade curriculum is full of great genres of music, songs, and concepts that we will be learning about this year, including:

Basic music theory (reading and writing music)

Medieval and Renaissance period

African American Spirituals

American folk songs

Felix Mendelssohn 

Ludwig van Beethoven
