Longhorn Leaders Small Group

Group Information

In the Ascension Longhorn Leaders Group, 8th grade students will have the opportunity to enhance their leadership and time management skills, learn the importance of responsibility, and earn the privilege of becoming a role model to their fellow classmates and younger peers. The group sessions will include the opportunity to practice dealing with interpersonal dilemmas and conflict resolution, learning organizational skills, and what it means to be a leader. As we go through the end of the year, our sessions will lead up to a leadership project for the end of the year. The leadership project will incorporate all the lessons that are learned during our sessions. I really want to give the students the opportunity to create and implement their ideas and see where their plans take them!

Students are nominated by their teachers for this group. Teachers will nominate students based on effort put forth in the classroom, respect towards peers and adults, and an overall positive character.

All nominated students will receive a letter congratulating them and inviting them to participate. Parents of nominated students will receive an email containing a permission slip that will need to be signed and returned in order for their student to participate in the group.

Any parents or students with questions can reach out to Ms. Hoehler via email or phone.
