Public Speech

As former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill once said: “The size of your career is determined by how many people you can speak to in public.”

Being a confident speaker plays an essential role in career success, daily life, and social interactions. So, how does one become an effective public speaker? Strong speech content and effective delivery skills go hand in hand — neither can be overlooked. A good speech must be well-structured, evidence-based, clearly organized, and use precise language to engage and persuade an audience. Equally important are delivery techniques: vocal projection, body language, audience interaction, and confident stage presence. And of course, consistent practice over time is key.

In this course, students will build a solid foundation in public speaking skills. By practicing various types of speeches — including special occasion speeches, persuasive speeches, and informative speeches — students will learn how to craft compelling scripts, support their ideas with logical arguments and evidence, and present them convincingly. They will develop techniques such as appropriate eye contact, clear articulation, controlled pacing, effective gestures, and the use of precise vocabulary and correct grammar — all of which help captivate an audience and create genuine resonance.
