OUR FAMILY &
SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP
Welcome to our
Stuartfield Family & School Partnership
Building a close relationship with your child’s school has been proven to have big benefits for your child in terms of their achievement and Stuartfield Family & School Partnership (SF&SP) want to help you to achieve this, by being the link between the school and the wider Parent Forum. Our Partnership consists of an enthusiastic group of volunteer Parents / Carers who all share the common goal of wanting to help make Stuartfield School, and the time our children spend there, the best it can possibly be.
The SF&SP is happy to turn it’s hand to anything but mostly we organise events and fundraise for the school to help them purchase much-needed resources, subsidise class trips and to organise fun and educational visitors for the children in school.
All Parents / Carers are welcome and encouraged to join our meetings and/or become part of our Partnership Committee. We meet once a term and we are a fun and friendly group. We understand that you may not be able to be part of the Partnership Committee or attend meetings, however, there are lots of other ways you can be involved. We often need extra help throughout the school year, for example supervising discos (there is always a balloon or two to inflate!), pop-up shops for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas, wrapping Christmas gifts, shopping for events and helping out with DIY jobs, including making flat packed furniture. Our Fundraising Group organises events throughout the year too, such as the Summer and Christmas Fayres, bingo nights, quiz nights and raffles to name but a few. Keep an eye on the school Facebook page and your emails as we always ask for help when we need it. These events raise vital funds. Last session, we were able to help the school purchase new Chromebooks to support the children’s learning, playground equipment to make the playground more fun, including new benches, and we contributed towards the transport costs for each class to have a trip.
Another part of the SF&SP’s role is to work with the school on their School Improvement Priorities. Recently, we were able to contribute funds to allow the school to purchase a new Reading scheme and we are funding the Library refurbishment, which will hopefully be completed by September, which will give the children a comfortable and inspiring space to sit and read for enjoyment. Our next project is to work with the school to create a relaxing and calming sensory room.
We are also able to liaise with the school on any issues which impacts the whole school community, for example road safety outside the school. However, we are unable to be involved with individual child or family issues as these should be discussed directly with the school.
We are happy to work with all our Parents / Carers so please get in touch via our email address, which is confidential and is only accessed by myself as the SF&SP Chair, for any reason including sharing fundraising ideas, offers of help, etc. Our email address is: stuartfieldparentcouncil@yahoo.com or you can contact us through the school office.
We look forward to working with you.
The next Parent Council Meeting will be held in school on:
Monday 26th September 2024 @ 6.30pm
We hope to see you there!
