Pupils who select to study Events in S3 will be following the Qualification Scotland L4 Events course. Successful completion of this will see a L4 qualification awarded on your Qualificaiton Scotland Certificate at the end of S4.

This unit is designed to extend learning from S1/2 in how to use Microsoft Office packages. Pupils will use the skills learnt to enable them to carry out the other units in this course. They will look at:
Using straightforward functions of a spreadsheet
Using straightforward functions of a flat database
Using straightforward functions of word processing
There are three outcomes to this unit (comprising of several individual tasks). Pupils will be giving each outcome/task when their teacher feels that they are ready.
Assessments are pass/fail. If a pupil does not meet the required standard, a reassessment opportunity will be offered at a suitable time.
The unit will help pupils consider how to identify customers, their needs and how these needs can be met, including the procedures for dealing with dissatisfied customers. They will learn about:
The importance of customer care to an organisation
How to establish the needs of external customers
How to provide information to external customers
How to respond to dissatisfied external customers in specified circumstances
There are four outcomes to this unit. Pupils will be giving each outcome when their teacher feels that they are ready. Some of the assessments for this unit are practical, in the form of a role play.

The various types of social software available
The impact of digital technology on contemporary culture
Use of social software to perform specific tasks

This unit is designed to introduce pupils to the skills and knowledge required to assist with an event.. They will do this by:
Work cooperatively as a member of a team, to assist in the planning of an event.
Work cooperatively as a member of a team, to assist in the implementation of an event, seeking feedback from others.
Review and evaluate contribution to team working on completion of the event.
There are three outcomes to this unit. Pupils will be giving each outcome when their teacher feels that they are ready.
Part of the assessment criteria for this unit is to assist with a real event; pupils will need to give up at least one lunchtime to complete this.
Assessments are pass/fail. If a pupil does not meet the required standard, a reassessment opportunity will be offered at a suitable time.
