The National Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) programme was introduced in August 2010, with young people sitting new NQs in May 2014, 2015 & 2016, on a staged implementation. It was developed to improve education for all children and young people and to put their needs at the heart of learning and teaching.
In Aberdeenshire we are committed to giving every child and young person the chance to realise their full potential and become successful, confident, responsible citizens who are able to contribute effectively to their learning community.
The Curriculum Framework 3-18 for Aberdeenshire is in place to give clear guidance to schools and communities on the planning and delivery of a meaningful set of curriculum experiences and entitlements that will prepare Aberdeenshire learners for 21st Century Scotland.
At Academy level we need to continue to develop close working relationships with parents as key partners in their children’s learning.
