At Banff Academy, we offer Walking expeditions at low or no cost to participants.
Walking expeditions take place in both local and remote areas depending on Level and usually take place in the summer months after the participants have started their award.
The centre can also provide hire of equipment such as tents, rucksacks, waterproofs, roll mats etc at low cost to participants or free of cost for participants requiring financial support to do their expedition.
Participants are required to complete in class training (usually after school) as well as an expedition training day in order to meet the training requirements for their expedition. They are required to complete the DofE expedition training framework before going on expedition.
Participants are also expected to leave mobile phones and other electronic devices at home. An emergency mobile phone is provided to participants during the expedition.
