In this section, we're going to create our own Irish Jig. In groups, you'll be choreographers and create a piece of jig that contains and pattern and rule of your choice. The rest of the class will need to try and identify which pattern and rule you have included based on what they see. We'll be using the traditional Irish Washerwoman Jig Music as our dancing music.

PROJECT STEPS
1. Select your pattern. Divide the dance into 3-4 sections and select a pattern for your feet, legs, arms and hands for each section.
2. Identify the rule that connects your patterns. Think about the patterns you have created for each section of your dance. What is the rule contained in each pattern? Is it the same rule or is it a different rule? Your dance sequence must have at least one pattern and one rule for that pattern clearly showcased.
3. Practice your dance choreography and get it ready to perform in front of the class. Your dance performance should flow seamlessly and all members in your group should be able to perform your patterns and rules with accuracy and precision.
4. Create one written piece of choreography to submit to the teacher before your performance. Your choreography should identify the steps you will perform, as well as what pattern(s) you have selected and the rules found in that pattern(s).
