Ann I Am Sharp as a Tack
8 x 18 inches
Acrylic on Canvas
$250
Vibrant strokes of acrylic paint on three canvases compose this abstract self-portrait, Ann I Am Sharp as a Tack. Two strands of sparkling red/pink and blue/violet hues swirl into a domed human head shape that balances on a silver pin or pedestal in the central panel. These lines resemble brain waves and blood passing through veins. The composition becomes a sharp, strong, center, as two smaller canvases rest on either side. At left, an animated rose calla lily spews fiery orange sparks, or pistils. At right, bright red and rose lines coil into a figure eight design. Orange dots at center of each circle reverberate with the expulsions of the lily at left. All three canvases share turquoise backgrounds.
