Ready Math and Ready Reading

i-Ready

What is i-Ready?

I-Ready is an online program for mathematics and reading that will help your child’s learning team determine your child’s needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. It also allows your teachers to meet your child exactly where they are academically and provides data to increase your child’s learning gains. This is accomplished through the i-Ready diagnostics, MyPath, and specific and differentiated teacher assigned lessons.

What are the i-Ready diagnostics?

Adaptive computer assessments, otherwise known as the diagnostics, are given for both reading and math at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year to monitor student academic growth. These are one of the measurements to determine if services are needed for students outside of the normal general education classroom setting. MyPath, lessons on i-Ready, are then geared based on student outcomes on these assessments to allow for differentiated instruction. Results on both are monitored by learning teams to allow for continual student growth.

What are the Oral Reading Fluency Assessments?

Oral reading fluency assessments are reading passages that are read by the students to classroom teachers, or other specialized staff, to determine reading accuracy, fluency, and basic comprehension. This is another measurement to determine extra services and monitor student growth. Along with the diagnostics, these are given in the beginning, middle, and end of the school year.

Ready Reading Program

The Ready Reading program focuses on reading comprehension and response to text. It teaches higher-level comprehension strategies needed to understand what is read at a deeper level. It also includes listening and speaking.

Ready Math Program

The Ready Math program challenges students by teaching them various strategies to solve the same problem. Student math discussions, problem solving, and manipulatives are key components of this program that allow students to become problem solvers, collaborators, and thinkers.
