UASCA is collaborating with Louisville Visual Art in presenting "Human l Nature," exploring visual and performing artists and scientists who bring sustainability into their practice in medium, method, and theme. "Human I Nature" will investigate the intersection of art and science and the effects of climate change, both the impact of humans on the natural world and how humans can better prepare and respond to climate change events.
The visual artists work ranges from a focus on glacial decline while portraying the majestic mountains, to reflections on human and nature interactions. An Emmy-award winning animator will premier her short, animated film on climate change. Scientists supporting the inter-disciplinary collaboration include Dr. Fran Kremer, UASCA co-founder. Keith Waits at LVA leads the curation and operations.
The Carla Gover Band will provide creative music, supporting environmental, climate, and social justice objectives. She has toured for nearly three decades, performing at such prestigious venues as the Glasgow Royal Hall, MerleFest, and The Kennedy Center.
Participating organizations include: Art Nature Consortium, Bernheim Forest, Wendell Berry Center, City of Louisville, Kentucky Waterways Alliance, Louisville Climate Action Network, Mother Earth Project.
