"Current Position: Seoul 2017 brought together ideas related to pushing the imagination of the 'after', locating oneself in different contexts of the real world, and creating a voluntary platform for art students and art practitioners.
Current Position, a lecture program that followed in the fall of 2016, introduced projects that focused on the theme of place. In particular, Current Position: Seoul 2017 examined the city of Seoul through the prism of cultural and artistic activities and women. In the first lecture, geographer Donggeun Lim examined the development of Seoul through the changing demographics and discussed the issues of women in big cities. Later, CasCo Curator Lightna Choi, who travels between Seoul and Utrecht to organize activities centered on critical artistic practice, artist Dirk Fleischmann, founder of RAT, an art school that operates a platform for self-directed learning under the catchphrase "Seoul as an artistic city," Park So-ryung, CEO of Publici, an online platform that produces and distributes intellectual content, and Professor Hyunseok Seo, who works on documentaries and performances based on research on Asian cities.
