Art Collider Lab has been collaborating with the 'ACC Professionals Content Discovery' project by National Asia Culture Center since March this year. We have jointly planned and operated the <Web AR (Augmented Reality) Content Integration Course> program. This program targeted arts and culture content planners and creators, focusing on the theme 'City of Faces, Faces of City.' The program was divided into three parts: 'PART 1. Lectures,' 'PART 2. Workshops,' and 'PART 3. Showcase.'
'City of Faces, Faces of City'
Yoko Tawada, who writes in German and Japanese, criticized the traditional philosophical discourse that focused on the 'face' as being exclusive to humans. She defined the 'face' as 'something that becomes visible.' According to her perspective, a 'face' is not limited to humans or animals; it can also exist in objects, buildings, cities, and even dreams. Through the theme 'Faces of the City, City of Faces,' we aimed to view the city from a multi-dimensional perspective, acknowledging the existence of various entities on the peripheries, and, in doing so, discover new aspects or facets of the city.
PART 1. Lectures
We explored discourse related to 'faces and cities' from various fields, aiming to expand the interests of creators and provide inspiration. You can also find summary videos of sessions 2 to 5 of 'PART 1. Lectures' on the Center for Art Convergence's YouTube channel.
