"Integrating technical and planning education to enhance convergence art creation expertise"
Art Collider Lab has integrated and strengthened its convergence art education and creative programs, which have been ongoing to nurture artists who freely experiment with new creations across the domains of art, technology, and society. This initiative led to the establishment of the Art Collider Academy (AC Academy). AC Academy emphasizes the essential skills required for autonomous convergence art creation, namely 'planning' and 'technical expertise.' To realize this objective, the course titled <Art · Border · Collider> focuses on 'technical skills'—the ability to create interactive media using two or more hardware or software components—, while the planning course in <Artist Writing: From Language to Art> centers on 'writing' to enhance professionalism in convergence art .
<Art · Border · Collider> is a technical workshop offered to current bachelor/master students and former students (up to three years after graduation) at K-Arts. It is structured around 'Virtual Space' and 'Real-time Interactive Performance.' While we can use technology as a suitable tool for artistic expression, we can also draw artistic inspiration by interpreting contemporary technological society. In this regard, <Art·Boundary·Collider> primarily addresses the understanding of technology for artistic expression, messaging methods that incorporate the characteristics of media, and collaboration and community building for creative purposes in the context of convergence art creation.
