Seth Priebatsch, game designer, said in his 2010 TED lecture that "from the era of the social layer built by social media to connect all mankind, the expansion of mankind through games will be conducted by game layer.” As such, the act of game playing, which started as a form of play, breaks down the boundaries with reality and expands into every corner of our daily life. Art Game Lectures <Game Layers for Play> looked at various layers surrounding games to look as a new medium of expression.
Wonjoon Yoo presented the correlation between art and games through the gamefic properties of algorithm-based artworks, and Junhee Yoon examined the current game market issues and the potential for development of games from an industrial perspective. Keunseo Park and Jaehwan Park analyzed the game <Sally’s Law> through the relationship between “play (ludology)” and “narrative (narratology),” two classic components of a game. Youngjin Oh and Gayoung An explored the relationship between games and society with the theme of gender, and Yungbin Kwak and Shingyu Kang looked into the gameness in film and broadcasting. Lastly, Jungyeop Lee examined the game ecosystem through indie games and inspirational games.
