However, we encountered many difficulties in the technical implementation. As we progressed with the work, it began to feel like we were wearing clothes that didn't fit, dealing with a subject and technology we didn't understand well. We realized that our approach was somewhat arrogant, assuming that "it will work out" and that if the technical aspects were implemented, the performance would be complete. This led to a lack of planning and contemplation regarding the performance itself. As a result, the performance at Space Can only showcased how the objects moved and conveyed their functions to the audience.At the point where we needed to write the exhibition statement, we abandoned the idea of organizing our fragmented thoughts and instead created a pseudo-code, mimicking code syntax.
2MIN_2MIN 2018_performance_15min_2018.ino#include <2MIN 2018>
int 2MIN = (Ryu Jimin, Gim youngmin)int exhibition ={time = 123days,studying,money = 200,teaching = 2month,}int obstacle ={time,knowledge,money,effort,stress,health,condition}
void setup() {size(500,600);background(255);duration(15minute);space(space CAN);}
void loop() {if(obstacle money > 200) {phone call to DAD or MOM; else if (declined) { bank loan product(kakao) = exhibition money + 100; }}
if(obstacle condition > exhibition) {2MIN effort = random;delay(1week);}
if(obstacle stress > 100) {2MIN eat. salmon;}
if(obstacle knowledge < exhibition) {teaching. thanks to = (Hwang Joosun, Sohn Kyung-hwan);}
delay(holiday);
Serial.print(“object1=”);Serial.println(“Sound.shoes”);Serial.print(“object2=”);Serial.println(“car”);Serial.print(“object3=”);Serial.println(“rotation.sclupture”);Serial.print(“object4=”);Serial.println(“rotation.lamp”);}
// ‘2MIN’ was not declared in this scope
Following the creation of this code, we adjusted our approach to focus on "revealing the work process." We believed that by doing so, we would capture several smaller plans and concepts within the work, rather than struggling to pursue an overarching plan. Within this context, we decided to include a lecture performance that was not originally part of our plan. We re-edited what we had studied and seen on platforms like YouTube and in articles, compiling them into a single script for a live broadcast on social media. This lecture performance served as a summary of the series of processes we had undertaken and, at the same time, highlighted the abstraction of technology and science, making it more explicit (a story that even we could barely comprehend).
