ここから始まる歴史、ここに集結した歴史。

Naniwa Musica Antiqua（NMA）は、今、大阪の地で産声を上げたばかりの新しいアンサンブルです。私たち自身の歴史は、まだ白紙の１ページ目に過ぎません。

しかし、私たちの活動の核となる楽器たちには、すでに300年を超える壮大な歴史が刻まれています。

1700年代、バロック後期から古典派の時代。イタリア、イギリス、フランス、オーストリアの工房で職人たちの手によって生み出されたこれらの楽器は、当時の宮廷やサロンで、あるいは教会で、人々の喜怒哀楽に寄り添う響きを奏でていたはずです。

フランス革命の動乱、産業革命による社会の変容、そして二度の世界大戦。激動のヨーロッパ史を生き抜き、奇跡的に現代へと受け継がれたこれらの「歴史の証人」たちが、時を超え、海を越えて、ここ極東の商都・大阪（なにわ）に集結しました。

それらは決して、博物館のガラスケースの中で眠る骨董品ではありません。今もなお、生々しい生命力を宿した現役の楽器です。

NMAの歴史とは、この楽器たちが持つ長い物語を引き継ぎ、日本の演奏家たちと共に、新たな章を現代の大阪で刻み始めることそのものです。過去300年の響きと、これからの私たちの挑戦が交錯する場所。それがNMAです。

A History Beginning Here, A History Gathered Here.

Naniwa Musica Antiqua (NMA) is a brand-new ensemble that has just emerged in Osaka. Our own history is still merely the first blank page.

However, engraved within the instruments that form the core of our activities is already a magnificent history spanning more than two centuries.

Born in the 1700s—the era transitioning from the Late Baroque to the Classical—by the hands of craftsmen in workshops across Italy, Britain, France, and Austria. In the courts, salons, and churches of that time, these instruments surely produced sounds that resonated with the full spectrum of human emotion.

The upheaval of the French Revolution, the societal transformations of the Industrial Revolution, and two World Wars. Having survived the tumultuous history of Europe and miraculously endured to the present day, these "witnesses to history" have transcended time and crossed oceans to gather here in the commercial metropolis of the Far East: Osaka (Naniwa).

They are by no means antiques slumbering within museum glass cases. They remain active instruments, imbued even now with a raw, vibrant vitality.

The history of NMA is defined by inheriting the long narrative of these instruments and, together with Japanese musicians, beginning to inscribe a new chapter right here in modern Osaka. It is the intersection where the resonance of the past three centuries meets our present endeavor. That is NMA.
