Students learn about plants, gardening, ecosystems, food, nutrition, and more in lessons we lead in our school gardens and classrooms.
Food grown in school gardens is incorporated into special meals and other dishes that are served in the cafeterias each year. The ARPS School Nutrition Department prioritizes purchasing local food, and students learn about the farmers from whom ingredients are sourced.
Community connections strengthen our Farm to School program by connecting students with local farms, building partnerships with local colleges and universities, and helping families access and enjoy healthy, local food.
