To kick off our second themed week of JRPM, we encourage you to simply spend 30mins outside doing whatever you like! Sit, stroll, cook, eat, play, explore... Embrace the fresh air and take this time to do what makes you happy.
There is so much to learn about and from nature! Plants, animals, insects, climates, etc... Today we hope you take the chance to read a book/chapter or watch a show/documentary about nature. Tell us what you've learned!
Alberta has some incredible biodiversity! Today we challenge you to identify local biodiversity in your communities - much like what the City of Edmonton is doing for their BiodiverCity event from June 10-13!
*If you're not in the Edmonton area, the iNaturalist app is great to use!
Today, we encourage you to explore a trail that is new or different from your typical route. Check out the trails in your community or explore trails in another and see if you can spot some local biodiversity!
Ahh...Saturday! What a perfect day to get some gardening done! Whatever the plant, try to plant something new for the backyard, porch, or the home.
Visit Miracle-Gro Canada's tips for fun, family-friendly gardening hacks found here !
Birds in your backyard? Squirrels on a trail? Deer in a meadow? Beaver or muskrat in a pond? Wherever you are, try to spot some local wildlife - and be mindful of their size and habitat!
Build a fort, blow bubbles, draw with chalk, visit a park - anything goes today! Your only task is to get outside, have some fun, and be creative!
