HONORARY BOARD MEMBER
Neil Beller was born in the Bronx, New York, and raised in Southern California, where he first discovered his passion for the arts. After graduating high school in 1959, he pursued higher education at UCLA, earning his degree in 1963 before continuing on to California Western University School of Law. He completed his Juris Doctorate in 1966 and soon after relocated to Las Vegas to begin his legal career.
Neil passed the Nevada Bar in 1969 and quickly advanced in the profession, becoming a partner at Goodman, Oshins, Brown & Singer in the late 1970s, where he remained until 1982. From the early 1980s through 1986, he served as a partner at Brown, Wells, Beller & Kravitz. In 1986, he established Neil J. Beller, Ltd., where he continues to serve as general counsel today. His legal practice emphasizes business and general litigation, and throughout his career he has represented a broad range of companies and individuals. In addition, Neil has served as outside counsel for the Board of Realtors, handled zoning matters, and worked as a Deputy District Attorney and Alternative Municipal Judge.
Neil has contributed extensively to the legal profession through committee and board service. He has served on the State Bar of Nevada’s Fee Dispute Committee for more than a decade. On June 23, 2021, the Board of Governors appointed him to the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board, where he served through July 1, 2024.
Committed to giving back, Neil has always balanced high-profile legal work with meaningful community service. He has donated substantial time to pro bono cases—ranging from bankruptcies to parental rights matters—ensuring access to justice for individuals unable to afford representation. He continues to volunteer for the Nevada State Bar, including as a fee dispute arbitrator. Neil also serves on the board of New Horizons School, where he contributes his time, skills, and legal expertise.
Community involvement has been a central part of Neil’s life. He has long been an active member of Temple Ner Tamid, where he has served on numerous subcommittees, including the Legacy Committee, which focuses on charitable giving. Before joining Temple Ner Tamid, he served on the board of Temple Beth Sholom.
Neil has consistently supported the political and judicial systems through volunteerism and civic engagement. He has helped organize committees and events to assist election efforts and educate voters about candidates. Most recently, he helped host a “Meet the Candidates Night” at his temple, where he led outreach efforts, coordinated candidate participation, and ensured that the program ran smoothly.
Although law is his primary profession, Neil is also an entrepreneur at heart. Over the past three decades, he has owned and managed his own law firm, partnered in multiple firms, and played key roles in launching and supporting various business ventures. His entrepreneurial projects have ranged widely—from real estate investments to operating a liquor store in a casino. He has also helped establish and participate in several nonprofit organizations.
Among the many nonprofits he has supported, Neil has been a dedicated advocate for Larger Than Life, which works to improve the quality of life for Israeli children battling cancer. He has also supported the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) of Las Vegas. In recognition of his extensive community involvement, the Clark County Bar Association honored him in 1998 with its Volunteer of the Year Award.
Neil also has experience in the medical marijuana industry. He obtained certificates in both cultivation and production and served as a minority member of a licensed operation until its recent sale, pending state approval. He is well-versed in the certification process and the current laws governing the field.
