HONORARY BOARD MEMBER
A distinguished public servant, aerospace professional, and veteran, Mr. Carbone brings decades of leadership, technical expertise, and community service to the Chamber’s mission of supporting veterans, service members, and business development initiatives.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Frank began working at fifteen years old, gaining early hands-on experience in mechanical repair and fuel service operations on Long Island. That early work ethic evolved into a lifelong career in engineering, manufacturing, and aerospace innovation. He proudly served four years in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Repair Mechanic, developing technical precision and discipline that would shape his professional career. Following his military service, he built a 30-year career with Northrop (now Northrop Grumman), advancing from assembler to Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling specialist.
He later served in Program Management on the B-2 Stealth Bomber program and as Integrated Program Manager for the Total Systems Support Program (TSSP) at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. Under his leadership, the program earned the prestigious David Packard Excellence in Acquisition Award in 2004.
In addition to his private-sector accomplishments, Mr. Carbone served as a Commissioner and Chair of the Nye County Commission in Nevada, where he provided strong leadership, fiscal oversight, and policy direction for one of the state’s largest counties. During his public service, he also served on regional transportation and intergovernmental boards, including participation in Clark County transportation governance initiatives, contributing to infrastructure planning and regional mobility policy discussions.
His professional background includes advanced manufacturing, welding, industrial management, program scheduling, engineering support, and large-scale systems coordination. His education includes studies at South Bay School of Business, El Camino College, and the Northrop Management School of Business.
Married for over 52 years, Frank is a proud father and grandfather. His lifelong commitment to service—military, civic, and professional—continues through his volunteer leadership with the Armed Forces Chamber organizations, where he supports initiatives that strengthen veterans, families, and businesses across Nevada and beyond.
