PRIVATE SCHOOL PROCESS GUIDELINES

✅ Email Cheryl Kerr, School Counseling Administrative Assistant (ckerr@arlington.k12.ma.us) with:

• Complete list of schools your child is applying to with each school's deadline

• Sign online Release of Information
  
  

✅ Counselor/Administrator Reports

• Send online requests for recommendations (Ravenna, Gateway, etc.) directly to your child’s school counselor’s email address

• Request for transcripts, please add Cheryl Kerr's email address. Transcripts can be uploaded directly onto these sites.
  
  

✅ Teacher Recommendations

• Important: Students should first talk to their teachers in person (it shows gratitude and respect!)

• After that, submit the online request to the teacher’s school email address
  
  

✅ Caregiver Insight Form

• Complete the Caregiver Insight Form (it will automatically be sent to the counselor)

• Counselor will share this form with the teachers as well
  
  

✅ Remember

• Recommendations are confidential between the requesting school and Ottoson staff
